The United States of America never stops to amaze anyone when it comes to tourism. The country has a handful of the best destinations to visit around the world and hence is a major attractor of tourists and travelers worldwide. The city of New York or the New York City is the most populous city in the whole country. The city is the most densely populated major city in the United States. The city is not only a popular city in the U.S. but also is a famous tourist destination around the globe. Situated on one of the world’s largest harbors, the city consists of five boroughs which consist of- Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx and Staten Island. There are as many as 800 languages spoken in the city which make it most linguistically diverse city in the world. New York City has architecturally noteworthy buildings in a wide range of styles and from distant time periods.

There are a number of tourist places in each of the boroughs which add on to the beauty and accessibility of this amazing city. Tourism is a vital industry for NYC which has witnessed a growing combined volume of international as well as national tourists. The major tourist destinations include The Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, and Empire State Building, Washington Square Park, The New York Wheel, Ellis Island, Bronx Zoo, Coney Island, Rockefeller Center, Madison Avenue and a number of other phenomenal destinations that leave the tourists awestruck by this fabulous place. I love New York City is both a logo and a song which has been used since 1977 to promote tourism in the city. 

Manhattan

It is the most densely populated among the New York City’s 5 boroughs. It is mostly mad of the Manhattan Island and it is the world’s major commercial, financial and cultural centers. Iconic sites of this place include The Empire State Building, Times Square, Center Park, Statue of Liberty, Metropolitan Museum of Art etc.

Statue of Liberty

One of the most famous Monuments in the city, it is a landmark of the New York City. It is a neoclassic sculpture on Liberty Island in the city. The statue is situated in Upper New York Bay on Liberty Island. A ferry ride from Battery Park in Lower Manhattan takes us to the incredible monument.

The Empire State Building

The fourth-tallest building in the United States, the beautiful cultural icon is designed in the distinctive Art Deco style and has been named as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by American Society of Civil Engineers.

Central Park

It is a boasting historic carousel with hand-carved houses, one of the largest in the country. The huge area of the park is perfect to spend any weekend or every weekday and all sorts of entertainment are available here for every weather and season.

Rockefeller Center

It is a famous complex in Manhattan consisting of 19 high-rise commercial buildings. It is a National Historic Landmark famous for its AnnualChristmas tree Lightning. It is a combination of two building complexes. It is also famous for the Radio City Music Hall which is promoted as the largest and the most opulent theater in the world. There are a lot of other attractions in the Center.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

A grand center for one of the world’s greatest collection of art, from ancient to contemporary. It is a delight for all the art lovers.

Times Square

A Bustling destination in the heart of the Theatre District, known for bright lights, shopping, and shows.42nd Street This place is a major crosstown street in the city known for its theaters near the intersection of Broadway at Times Square.

Some of the other main attractions of the borough, Manhattan include Grand Center Terminal, Chinatown, American Museum of Natural History, Top of the Rock, Ellis Island, World Trade Center, Bryant Park, Madison Avenue, Central Park Zoo, Trinity Church and a number of other phenomenal sites.

Queens

It is another borough of New York City on long Island across the East river from Manhattan. There are a lot of beautiful sites in the borough that add on to the amazingness of this city. The Flushing Meadows Corona Park is known for the panorama and is loved by all the tourists who visit the place. There are a lot of other sites that attract the tourists.

An enormous green space housing world’s fair monuments with amazing Museums like the New York Hall of Science, sports facilities, a zoo and a lot more for entertaining tourists.

This place is one of the oldest and the largest non-profit contemporary art institutions and serves as an exhibition space rather than a collecting Institution.

Astoria and Astoria Park

Famous for yoga, burgers, seafood and history, this is a middle-class and commercial neighborhood in the northwestern corner of the city in the borough Queens. The park is a 60-acre park including a pool, bocce courts, trials, and playground.

There are a lot of other delighting sites for tourists in the borough Queens including Queens’s zoo, Fort Totten, Queens Botanical Garden, Sculpture Center, Kissena Park, Fantasy Forest and a lot of other fabulous parks.

Brooklyn

This is the most populous borough of the New York City; the place has a lot to offer to the national and international tourists coming to the city. It borders the borough of Queens at the southwestern end of the Long Island. The official motto of Brooklyn when translated saysUnity Makes Strength”.

Brooklyn Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge Park

The bridge is a unique stone and steel design bridge connecting Manhattan and Brooklyn. One of the most beautiful bridges with a rich history, this is a must visit in New York.The Brooklyn Bridge Park is one of the most photographic parks in the city with shaded picnic tables, hibachi-styled BBQ grills, and amazing river views.

Coney Island

It is a peninsular residential neighborhood, beach and leisure destination on the Coney Island Channel which lies in the southwestern part of the borough.

The other major sites of this borough are Prospect Park, Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park, Parachute Jump, East River State Park, New York Bay, Japanese Hill and Pond Garden, New York Aquarium and a lot of other recreational centers and Museums.

The Bronx

It is the northernmost of all the five boroughs in the New York City. This is the only one of the five boroughs that have the majority area on the U.S. mainland. There are also a number of places for the tourists in this borough.

Bronx Zoo

A metropolitan zoo with 265 acres that harbors 4,000 animals in replicas of the native habitat of the nation.

Staten Island

This borough is in the southwest of the city which is separated by the city of New Jersey by Arthur Kill and the Kill Van Kull. The borough has a lot of beautiful places for the tourists to visit.

Staten Island Ferry

This is a passenger ferry service which is provided to run between the two boroughs Staten Island and Manhattan. The ferry runs 5.2 miles in the New York Harbor.

Clove Lake Park

This park is known for its immense natural beauty with lakes, ponds, and trees along with modern recreational areas including playgrounds and outdoor ice skating rink, the park is a complete package for the tourists who visit the place.

Verrazano Bridge

An amazing suspension bridge featuring 639-ft towers, this is the link between the two boroughs Brooklyn and Staten Island.

Freshkills Park

The park being built atop a landfill reclamation project on the Staten Island spread in an area of about 2,200 acres and is the largest park developed in New York. Activities like Kayaking are a major attraction of the park.

Some other places to visit in the Staten Island include Lemon Creek, Clay Pit Ponds State Park Reserve, Staten Island Zoo, Kill Van Kull, Bayonne Bridge, New York Wheel and a lot of other places.
